Planning 8 to 10 day trip to Italy. I have been to Rome and Florence previously but first time for my wife. Looking for suggestions on itinerary. Given time of year thinking Rome and Amalfi Coast may be safest bet? Don't want cold or rain. We enjoy beautiful scenery, wine and food, walks, and limited amount of museums, etc. Would appreciate any suggestions.
You may well see some rain and cold in November. However, I have a really great recommendation for Furore. It is an agriturismo on the Amalfi Coast and you do need a car to get there. The website is www.agriturismoserafina.it. The family that runs this place is amazing. Prices last year were 100 Euro for a double room per night, including breakfast and dinner. When I say breakfast and dinner, I mean lots of food, all of it home made/grown.
If you are lucky, you may catch some of the oil making season. Wine will have ended in October most years.
