Itinerary Check - is this too much

Travelers:

2 that have been to Milan and Venice, 1 that has not

Trip Objective:

Milan to see friends on arrival day for dinner
Venice Biennale 3 nights (train from Milan)
Car to Bologna for Ducati for 1 and lunch for 2
Overnight in Modena for dinner at Osteria Francescana
Train to Milan - pick up by friends and overnight in private home with transport to airport on day 8

Should we skip the Bologna and Modena part and enjoy Milan and Venice more? We won't likely be back to this neck of the woods.

Lunch in Bologna could be the highlight of your trip - although it sounds like you’ll have lots of highlights! If this is your one chance to eat in Bologna, don’t pass it up. We stayed for a week on our 5 week trip to Italy last fall, and are returning to Bologna again this fall.
