Hi gang, Taking my mom to Italy next month (Oct. 13 23) with the following itinerary: Venice (arrive Monday- depart Wednesday), CT (arrive Wednesday - depart Saturday), Rome (arrive Saturday- fly home Wednesday). If by chance it rains in the CT, I would like to have a backup plan as I'd imagine it would be boring. We are taking the train between the 3 areas above and flying into Venice and out of Rome. Seems a long time to be in CT unless you like lots of hiking. I would take her there as a day trip and spend some time in a village in Tuscany or Florence.

I agree with Terry. Move on over to Florence for a couple of days.
