Italy With Family & Four Grand Kids

We will be taking a family trip during June, 2021 (never too early to plan) and interested in recommendations on what to do and where to go with the grand kids who will be 7, 9, 12 and 14 years old when we travel. We'll also be traveling with our son and daughter and their spouses so a total 6 adults and 4 kids. Agritourismo with pool, vinyards, animals?? Where? Other ideas, please. My husband and I have traveled throughout Italy multiple times but our interest for this family trip is that our kids (never been to Italy) and grand kids have a great experience. Our family are experienced travelers so we can split our time between a couple of locations. Planning around 10-12 days in country. Flying, driving, train or any combination is fine. Thanks in advance! Arlene

Since you've been to Italy before, you likely have a good sense of which of the main sights would be of interest to your grandkids. I think that would be a good starting point in terms of activities, and perhaps those who have traveled with kids will chime in. Sharing the grandkids' interests might also help elicit some suggestions. I've seen other people ask a similar question on the forum too, so you might try searching "Italy with kids" in the search bar above and see what comes up.

In terms of number of locations, I would personally do 2-3, depending on if you have 10 or 12 days. As you probably know, trains are a breeze in Italy, but with 10 people, it might be worth checking out private transfers or group tours that start in one city and end in another as a way of moving between cities and seeing some sights along the way.

Happy planning!
