Jon, which one? Is it an RS walk? There are quite a few 'walks' in Rome. Cheers!

Again, another question that requires mind reading. And who is everyone?

Get the RS book, there are several self guided walks. There are also some other useful tidbits in the book. Tear out the Rome section and carry it with you instead of toting the book around.

we did the Rome at Night Walk (something like that title) from Rick Steve's Italy guide, either our first or second night. It's more than a mile. Took us lots of interesting places. Good intro to the city. After that, my guide (my adult daughter) followed maps and her nose to help us get where we wanted to go. Sometimes the best things are discovered by mistake, so if you have the time, WANDER a bit. Many areas feel like a much smaller town once you get into them, as opposed to a bustling big city. We stayed nr Termini and used the metro or bus to spare our feet, sometimes, and other times--especially evenings--we walked all the way to popular sights, wandered around and walked back.
Only way to deal w all that pasta.

well since the OP hasn't returned with more information and since the walk mentioned by julie is more than a mile, it can't be the one asked about. If jon returns with more info we may be able to answer his question...

There is also a walk along the walls that circle Rome - the part that is walkable is about a mile, I think, perhaps less.
