i am leaving in two weeks for Italy. i am flying Lufthansa airlines from Charlotte,NC to Munich, Germany then on to Venice. for those that have traveled recently what were the COVID requirements if any. i keep seeing conflicting information online. what kind of entry documents do i need to upload to the airlines?
Lufthansa does state that as of 2/22/23 "covid-19 related entry or transit requirements for Germany have been lifted". do i need to show a negative test or just my vaccination card?
thank you
We just returned. There are no covid restrictions in Italy. We flew Aerlingus and they posted warnings about checking for restrictions, but I think the airlines are just covering themselves, as of now there are no restrictions. I would say less than 10% of the people wear masks but you can do whatever you feel comfortable with. Some stores still have mask signs posted but no one was wearing them not even the shop keepers.
thank you both. great website christineH.
i was more worried about the airlines versus the shops/restaurants. i was planning on bringing a mask or two anyways just in case.
We do still wear masks on flights and always have on hand anyway.
Masks are easy purchase to Italy- cheaper and much nicer too. Any pharmacy would have.
This is almost the same trip I'm taking, about the same time! We're leaving CLT on the 20th, bike tour in Munich, then fly to Venice afternoon of 21st. Three days in Venice, then to Florence and back to Munich at the end of the week.
Have a great trip!
