Italy Travels in March!

My husband and I are planning a trip back to italy in early March next year.
We've already done the major tourist cities (Rome, Florence, Venice, Cinque Terre, Lake Como, Milan)- but this trip is a bit shorter with 9 days total. Planning to fly into Rome and looking to spend 1-2 days there, but ehe would love to stop in Naples, Pompeii and Amalfi coast.
Looking for any advice on where to stay and how long :) as well as any other cities in that area that we should try to visit while there.

Thanks so much!

Welcome to the forum!

9 days or 9 nights?

Can you fly out of Naples?
Naples and Pompeii would be fine in March.
Amalfi Coast will be pretty quiet then, no ferries running. Weather wil be iffy and if rainy, cloudy the AC wil be quite dreary

I'd stay in Naples (or maybe Sorrento), visit Pompeii from there.
Another option is Salerno- direct trains to Rome, Naples and an easy train to see the Greek temples at Paestum

If your departure is out of Rome you will need to be in Rome night before- so consider traveling to Naples (or Salerno) on arrival to Rome then finish your trip with your nights in Rome.
