Hello, my husband and I want to take a 10 to 12 day trip to Florence in 2027. Is Florence a good base and then just do day trips from there every day or every other day? I assume from Florence, we can visit Luca and the Tuscany countryside? Please advise thank you

Welcome to the forum!
A couple of questions:
- is this your first time in Italy?
- Are you planning to use the trains and/or buses or maybe do a mini-van type 1-day tour for some of Tuscany?
- Are you open to ideas, such as staying at a few places two nights and the rest in Florence?

Hello,
Thank you for your reply. It will be the first time my husband and I are in Italy. We’re not into the typical tours like Rome and all that other stuff. We want to go to just experience the food, the wine, the culture, see the views, etc., we will not be renting a car as we don’t really feel comfortable driving in a foreign foreign country. We would have no problem using buses or trains. So I just wanted to maybe be stationary and possibly one or two places and just view some sites on our own.

Hello Agsin, Per my above post, I thought perhaps we would be stationary in Florence or we can be stationary in Florence and perhaps one other area. If you have any suggestions that would truly be wonderful thank you.
