After the earthquake damage on Sunday, is it safe to plan and book a trip to the Venice and Florence and Rome areas and surrounding cities?

Ruth, The earthquake was centred in the region of Emilia-Romagna near the towns of Bologna and Ferrara, so you shouldn't have any problems at all travelling in Venice, Florence or Rome. Happy travels!
