italy trains - help

Folks,
I was looking at trenitalia.com and also italiarail.com.

I was able to find 6 sleeper couchette for the all night non-stop train from venice to rome on italiarail.com for much cheaper than trenitalia.com which does not even list the 6 couchette option.

Do i trust the italiarail.com website and buy the tickets in dollars?? Do all trains that have 4 couchette also have 6 couchette??

Do italia rail guys have access to the 6 couchette that the trenitalia doesnt???

Are there any other websites which sell train tickets for cheaper.??
Thanks,

Not sure of your age but if you want to sleep go for the 4 couchette even though the 6 is cheaper....I bought on line for both options no problem.

Italian trains are the cheapest. and minimally maintained so you really get what you pay for.....If it so speed and cheap you may want to look into flying. Sleeping on the train is an experience I really enjoyed.

Not sure why the 6-person couchettes don't show up on Trenitalia...maybe they're all sold out, and ItaliaRail doesn't know yet? I doubt very much if ItaliaRail would have access to seats that the Italian national rail company can't get ;) . In any event, Trenitalia has 4-person couchettes under the Amica fare for 45 Euro each...for two, that would be about $145...as Dee says, more comfortable than the six-person. If you haven't registered on Trenitalia, do that first, then once you have received your e-mail password, go back to book.
