Italy tour for 23 year olds

Hello

We are four friends wanting to visit Italy in June. We will be starting from Rome. Do any of you know of a way to tour from Rome to Sicily without having a guided tour where we have to go to all the sights the tour guide wishes. Just have a service that takes you from city to city. Or something of the sort?

Maybe I just don't understand the context - but why not take the
train?

I'm wondering the same. Trains are THE way to travel much of Italy, and they're not all that difficult to use if you do some advance reading. Your 'plan' is also very sketchy: how much time do you have for this trip, and where besides Rome and Sicily (which is a big place with a LOT of ground to cover, and buses can be useful for that one) do you intend to go?

The RS "My Way" Italy tour might be another option (see link below) although it may not include all the locations you wish to go.

If I understand your question, you want to get from Rome to Sicily without joining a tour. The website you want it Rome2Rio. This link is to a screen shot of the options as Rome2Rio sees them https://www.rome2rio.com/map/Rome/Sicily Mostly, no surprise for this itinerary, there are a lot of ok plane choices, some less timely ferry choices and a truly terrible bus choice. The website itself is very very helpful when you are beginning to think about how can I get from A to B.

For local tour guides anywhere look at www.toursbylocals.com and pick the area you want to tour by clicking on a map. See and read about about all the local guides and their tours. Want to personalize your tour then just send a message to the guide of your choice and request a personalized tour.

It's my understanding that the OP is not interested in guided services/tours. She appears just to want location-to-location transport taken care of.
