Heart of Italy tour or Best of Venice/Florence/Rome: 2 great tours with similar itineraries; the second being 1 day longer. Has anyone been on both?
I've done the Heart of Italy, not the other, but I think the main difference is Heart includes some smaller places and the other is only cities. Some people feel Venice is essential for a first visit. I had been there previously and enjoyed all the stops on the Heart of Italy tour.
Whichever you do, you can always add more days, on your own, to cover what you want to include.
This is currently the very struggle I’m having; which of these tours to book.
We chose Heart of Italy because we didn't want to just see old churches and art museums, even though we like art museums and old churches. When we were at the Uffizi in Florence I spoke to someone who was there with the Ruck Steve's Venice, Florence, Rome trip and he said they were having a good time but he was getting tired of old churches and art museums. When we finished our tour we caught the train to Florence. While we saw old churches we skipped the art museums. We walked the streets of Venice, rode the Vaporetto, went up the tower across the canal from st Marks and generally enjoyed a couple of low key days.
