We are currently planning a trip in late Oct. Our plan is to fly into Milan, Italy and eventually end up at a timeshare in Villeneuve-Loubet, France. Our thoughts are to leave Milan and spend 4 nights in Lake Como, Italy and then travel to the time share where we will spend a week. After the week in France, we will have two days to work our way back to Milan to fly home. Looking for other ideas as far as where we stay before and after the timeshare and also if we stay in Lake Como for 4 nights we are looking for day trips for that period. Any ideas for the stay in France would also be welcome.
Late October may be too late for 4 nights in Lake Como, beyond the season. You'll want to carefully check the average weather there in past years, to see if this is something you want to do.
Yes I agree late October is too late for the Lakes - perhaps only 2 nights. Look at Bergamo and Pavia from Milan. Turin, Genoa or San Remo if you are looking to break your journey towards Nice.
