You may have read in the news today, a sunken ship containing toxic waste was discovered off the coast of Calabria. Sadly, we may be
swimming in toxic waste this summer
So sad. Imagine the effects on the food chain 100 or even 50 years from now...
"a sunken ship containing toxic waste was discovered"
I read this article earlier - I do not see where that has been confirmed yet. They are looking for the waste and a specific boat. In the original AP article that is clear - in the link above the worst is already assumed.
I guess I am all about the doomsday today...given that the mafioso admitted it, it is just a matter of finding it. here's hoping I'm wrong
You can read about it here: http://english.aljazeera.net/news/europe/2009/09/200991652958847670.html
Wow; I've now read several articles about this and I HOPE it isn't all they think it is. Sunken ships in general, with their oil, etc, are bad enough. But if there are things like nuclear waste and medical waste.... it can be disasterous for everyone and everything. Let's hope for the best...
I heard this very distressing report on the news the other day, and it sounds like the one ship they described is only the "tip of the iceberg". Hopefully the authorities can put a stop to this!
