I will be renting a car and driving up the east coast of Italy leaving Catania, Sicily, for 9 days, to Venice in early October. Can anyone tell me "Must See" highlights and stops along the way. I will also be staying overnight as we travel. Can you also recommend towns to spend time in along the way. Thank you in advance

Do you have nine days to get to Venezia?
Before you get to the east coast, Tropea and Matera. Or, go to Lecce.
On the way up the eastern coast, Trani and some of the hill towns of Puglia (Locorotondo, Martina Franca, Ostuni), inland to Matera, the Gargano peninsula and the Tremiti islands, Urbino, Ravenna.

Yes we have nine day to drive from Catania, Sicily to Venice, Italy. We will be driving.
