Italy's Anniversary of the Republic (June 2) - What's closed?

Hello!

I'll be in Milan on June 2, during the Italian "Anniversary of the Republic (Festa della Repubblica). This site mentions there will be "closures" that day. Just trying to figure out what exactly will be left open / running so we can plan accordingly.

I've read that schools, banks & govt offices are all closed, but what will be left open? Will buses, subways & trains be running? Museums & restaurants still open? etc.

Thanks in advance!

Pretty much everything you need is open and running. Transportation will run on a holiday schedule, which affects intercity buses, but not so much city transport or trains.

I'm glad to hear trains will run...we will also be in Italy on June 2nd, 2016. However, we will be in Venice and we are hoping to take the overnight Thello train from Venice to Paris. Can anyone confirm if these overnight trains run on this holiday?
