Italy or Greece

Hello,
My husband and I are planning our first Rick Steves tour in 2018. We have traveled to Italy previously on our own with family and visited Rome, Florence and Venice. We are considering the Village Italy tour which seems to embrace the culture and experiences we both enjoy. The other tour we are thinking of is to Greece which neither of us has ever been to. I would love to hear other's opinions of these two tours.
Thanks!

We did the Athens and the Heart of Greece RS tour 2 years ago and would highly recommend it. Most road laws are "suggestions" in Greece, many signs are not in English, and the roads are VERY narrow. The RS tour goes to places a regular traveler would not be able to find or manage. What I liked most about the tour was the history we learned (far more than in HS and college, and I teach HS). Be warned, the tour is active with lots of walking. There are some places a tour would be beneficial, to get the most of the country, and Greece is one of those places. If you go, take good sandals (Chacos or Tevas), a swimsuit, and a hat. We liked Greece so much we're planning a return trip on our own next summer.

I have been to both places a few times each.
BUT I would really recommend the Village Italy tour. I loved it and it took us to places that I had not experienced before.
I love the smaller towns and villages.
Sorry, I can't comment on the Greece Tour (but as I said I have been to both places - liked them both)
Still recommend the Village Italy tour.
Happy Travels

Take one in 2018, the other in 2019! Among RS tours, these two are among the most enthusiastically reviewed. People absolutely love both tours! I took the Greece tour just this June, and it was wonderful. The combination of the Classical Greek ruins sites, and the small towns the tours visited, was terrific. The Greek people were consistently very friendly and helpful. The only reason that I have not signed up for the Village Italy tour is that I have visited most of its stops in recent years, places that I especially enjoyed such as Assisi, Orvieto, and others. Hard to justify paying to take a tour to places I already know, but I may eventually sign up anyway!

As you have already been to Italy, do Greece.

Thoroughly enjoyed the RS tour and the friendliness of the Greek people is 2nd to none. Really good food too!
