Italy on the grounds info for anyone interested. .

Hi made it to Italy finally 3 days ago. Spend $250 at SFO to get covid test. Might have been cheaper at some of the other places listed but it was Sunday and other places closed early. I think airlines prefer people to use verify as its easier for them. For some weird reason I had no problem getting a QR Code for Euro locator pass but my friend did and thought just having proof that she submitted form would work. Itodoesn't. Almost didn't make flight because my friend couldn't find her code . We got on flight luckily and I basically had to completely do another account with her name using my email.

Didn't need to show form except once when we left SFO. A couple times places wanted to see our Covid card but most places don't ask. We landed from SFO-JFK to Milan. Stayed a short 1.5 days at Lake Como. On trains people wearing masks but walking around people don't. Some shop people in Bellagio and Venezia aren't wearing any masks but luckily I wasn't go in those shops. For people who gave me vegan and GF options thanks. It's actually not been that hard to find food. I had vegi soup GF pizza in Bellagio, Risotto Milanese( I think it had butter though), Gnocchi with some flour I know but a supposedly vegan sauce in Venice and then GF pasta pomodoro. Chocolate ice cream made with water or something non dairy is everywhere. It's delicious but actually too sweet and I love chocolate. Find a lemon square cake GF in a package at the Milan train station. I'm discovering if one place doesn't have GF pasta another does or they something else that I can eat that mostly vegetarian vegan. Ciao for now.

Definitely interested, and thanks for the report! We’ve been in Italy for 8 days now, farther south than you. Most restaurants ask to see our CDC cards to sit inside (outside means smokers), but not every one. Some museums, but again, not all. Locator form or its QR code has not been asked for in Italy.

Just to answer one question, to clear any confusion...The PLF (locator form) you filled out, and received a QR code for, will not be asked for in Italy by anyone. It was just to provide the Italian Government with additional information for contact tracing (you submitted the information to them electronically) in the event a positive case occurred on your flight.

After a couple days after arrival, the information is outdated and of little use.

I think you will also find restaurants are required to include Allergen information, so that helps with GF, though some places do it better than others. In some places they simly post a waring indicating some allergens may be present...but I did see many GF items noted, including GF pizza crust. You might need to go to a more contemporary pizza place though, rather than a traditional one.
