My family of 4 was planning to travel to Rome, Florence and Venice this September. But after reading about the Catholic Jubilee drawing 25-35 millions tourists we are not confident this year is a good time to visit. Can any recent travelers verify this prediction is accurate and crowds are excessive?
Yes— Haven’t been to Italy yet in 2025, but have been reading that— yes— Italy is already crazy crowded this year. The most crowded cities this year are 2 of the 3 most-visited cities— Rome and Florence— which are expected to receive the most visitors of all cities in Italy this year.
At the moment no crowd at all.
Or better said: no more than other years.
At the moment no crowd at all.
Nobody goes to Italy anymore! It's too crowded!

I was there last month. Rome actually seemed less crowded than it did when I went 2 years ago. Florence had some crowds in the main areas but surrounding streets were fine. I believe September is generally busier than March though even without a Jubilee.
