Curious as to alternatives to the itinerary have have tentatively planned? We are not traveling until June 2028 so have some time to think of different options. Will be 2 adults and 1 teen girl. First trip to Italy. Have been to other European countries, so have some experience with the semantics of planning a big trip like this.
Non-negotiables: No car rentals (do plan for private transfers in places where needed - likely DayTrip); min 3 full days with a relaxed schedule near water - preferably beach location (w/ organized beach access close)
Prefer: Rome entry (direct flight) - do not need to start trip in Rome. We actually prefer to leave arrival city immediately and end back a few days before departure. Would also consider departing from a different city if easier.
Currently thinking:
Land Rome; private transport to Montalcino (3 nights); private transport Florence (4 nights); private transport Monterosso al Mare (4 nights); private transport or train to Rome (3 nights); depart Rome
Would love:
Any other alternate cities/towns/routes/itineraries as long as they include the non-negotiables! While I want to fit everything in, I feel like it may be most enjoyable to hit no more than 4 spots.
