Italy Itinerary - Revised based on your feedback - What do you think?

Between the guidebooks and this site, my head is spinning. I have revised my itinerary based on some of the feedback I have received. Thank you for all of the great information! I've been trying to figure out train times on the train sites. Here's what I have now:

July 10 -- Arrive in Milan in the morning (8 a.m) Train to Venice (2 ½ hours?) Arrive in Venice and pass out.
July 11 – Explore Venice
July 12 – Explore Venice
July 12 – Leave in the morning for Florence (2 and ½ hour ride ?)Arrive in Florence - Will this be considered a day in Florence?
July 13 – Explore Florence
July 14 – Explore Florence
July 15 – Explore Florence
July 16 – Leave in the morning for Cinque Terre (train – how long?)
July 17 – Cinque Terre
July 18 – Cinque Terre
July 19 – Leave for Rome – (how long?)
July 20 – Rome
July 21 - My friend will be leaving and I'll be on my own to finish exploring Rome and then?
On the 28th, I fly back out of Milan, so I was thinking of heading back to places I wanted to see more of, probably Florence area.
Would Lake Como fit anywhere in here?

When you depart Rome for the Florence area, stop and spend the night in Orvieto--a charming hilltown 1 hr. north of Rome. We enjoyed this town so much. Rick has lodging info in his book. Orvieto is accessible by train. I would also stop in Pisa. Yes, it's touristy but it is worth a few hours stop to see the tower, Duomo & Baptistry. Your itin looks good--have fun making lifetime memories!
