Planning a trip to Italy in October 2025. Need help with figuring order of itinerary. For simplification, let's say we are spending a week at each base. We are planning on Rome, Florence, Val d'Orcia, Sorrento/Amalfi Coast. Looking at using public transportation mostly, but not adverse to renting a car for Tuscany.
What order makes most sense for ease of travel and weather?

North to south as the days move towards winter, end in Rome where you can take your flight out though!
North to south:
Florence
Val d'Orcia,
Sorrento/Amalfi Coast.
Rome
Reasons: the further south you go, the better the weather.
Rome will be crowded anyway, but best to finish there for your flight home.
Sorrento/Amalfi Coast should be less crowded mid-end October
NB I don't like crowds, so I would choose Amalfi coast later for that reason, unless you want some beach time.
