I don't think there are many that time of year, which may be a good thing for avoiding the crowds. It may be a little chilly in northern Italy but middle to southern Italy should be very nice.

Google had a list of at least five events listed during that timeframe.

Tuscany can be very wet in November, the 2 greatest floods in the history of Florence were both in November, so be prepared for that. If you like truffles, there is a great festival in San Miniato (the village, not the Church in Florence) the last 3 weekends of Nov. I highly recommend it.

I am usually in Europe during this time of year and love going to Christmas markets. I found them in A'dam, Bruges, Paris, all over Germany (of course), Vienna, Budapest, Prague. But I do not recall seeing 1 in Italy. I think they take Christmas a bit more seriously, as I rarely saw anything with Christmas decorations.

Brett, many of the Christmas markets Italy (and decorating) does not start until after December 8, The Feast of the Immaculate Conception. It's a very special day in Rome - everything non-touristy is closed - and the Pope usually lays a wreath at 16:00 at the Statue commemorating the Conception near the Spanish Steps. I've been once - HUGE crowds! Unfortunately, due to weather (and crop harvests being over) there are fewer festivals in Italy in late November. We did go a Truffle festival a couple of year ago in November... Many truffle fairs are held in northern and central Italy. You'll also find chestnut festivals in many towns and villages during November. You might look at this link for festivals, November Festivals. And this link for some of the larger holiday season markets, Christmas Markets in Italy. As far as Christmas celebrations, lights, etc... the combination of local, national and church events in December can be staggering. Here are some of the views of Rome during the XMAS season: Roman Holiday
