Hello fellow travelers,
My wife and I have an upcoming wedding to attend in Augusta, Sicily on October 28. We're excited about the event and would like to extend our trip to explore more destinations for 10-14 days. We've previously been to Rome, Florence, and Siena, so we're looking for new adventures.
We're considering two main options:
Our first choice is Cinque Terre and the Amalfi Coast: We've heard amazing things about these coastal regions, but we're a bit concerned about the weather and potential closures during late October and early November. Has anyone been to Cinque Terre or the Amalfi Coast around this time of year? What was your experience like? Were the towns still lively and accessible, or did you find many things closed due to the off-peak season?
Alternatively, we're open to exploring other destinations like Sicily, Greece, or Spain. Sicily seems the easiest since we have to be there. We're also considering Greece, particularly Athens and the islands like Santorini or Crete. Spain is another option, with cities like Barcelona, Madrid, Seville. If you've traveled to any of these regions in late October or November, we'd love to hear about your experiences. How was the weather? Were there any closures or limitations we should be aware of? Any recommendations on must-see attractions or hidden gems in these destinations would be fantastic.
Any other countries/city recommendations are also welcomed! We don’t get to travel much so we want to make the most of it!
Thank you in advance for your assistance, and happy travels!
