Italy in late October

I will arrive in Italy on October 27th and will unfortunately only have 5-6 hours to see some sights. Is it possible to hook up with a small tour group in order to see the Vatican/St Peters/The Trevi Fountain in this short period of time. I'm thinking since is not a high tourist time in Italy this may be possible.

I suggest you may get more replies if you change your subject line to something like "Rome day tour Vatican."

In any case, I Googled and saw that Viator lists a number of Rome day tours that include the Vatican, though they may not include the Trevi Fountain. Be aware that Viator is a consolidator, so they have a markup. You'll pay a bit less if you book directly with the tour company you choose.

Hi there, welcome to the forum! First, late October is not a low tourist season, it might be slightly less busy but. So as you wish to do a Vatican AND St Peters tour- if you're arriving EARLY, I would book a tour through the Vatican, they're cheaper & access the Sistine Chapel before the crowds & use a passageway in between museum & cathedral. You won't be able to skip ahead, you have to trudge behind others through the entire Vatican museum to arrive at Sistine Chapel. If you DON'T get a combo ticket / tour, there are others that provide it, you would have to go out and around & into St Peters, and you don't have time for that.

Trevi fountain is easy - hop a taxi & they'll drop you off down the street from the fountain at a taxi Q. I would take a taxi to and from airport (I assume or is it train?) to maximize time in town center. Good luck!

I have had great luck with Walks of Italy tours. I have taken the Vatican/St.Peters early entry with a wonderful guide who has been giving tours for 20 years. I have been to the Vatican before and I wished I had taken this tour sooner as she brought the art and history to life. I have also taken their Colosseum tour with an excellent guide who was a native of Rome. Walks of Italy also has a full day tour that covers the sights you want to see, only that tour is 7.5 hours, so it might not fit your timeframe.

What time will you arrive and from where?
Will you be on a cruise?

Where are you going next and how?

I don't want you to be disappointed by your Trevi Fountain experience. I spent some time in Rome in February and March this year. I think I walked past the Trevi Fountain three times. It was always mobbed, even in the winter. You will be able to see the Fountain to some degree, but it won't be like you're probably imagining it.
