I cant get away from my job for longer that one week so if I want to go away longer i have to do it in early December. I would like to surprise my girlfriend with a trip to Italy this December. I'm worried about many things being closed. anything I should be concered about? most likely Florence, Chique Terra, and Siena. Thanks. I cant open email so dont respond by email please.

The Cinque Terre in early December will be absolutely dead. How about surprising her now by telling her that you want to take her to Italy in December and let her help plan the trip? She might want to go to Rome, Milan or someplace else instead, depending on her interests.

I like Michael's advice! Given your many choices of destinations in Italy, and that you only have one week, the Cinque Terre would not be a good choice for December, for the reasons given by Michael. There are many good choices for that time of year: anyplace that has indoor things to do that will not be totally weather dependent. Rome, Florence, Siena, Venice, for starters.
