Hello everyone! I have used this forum over and over again to help plan trip itineraries and just dream away about returning to Europe one day. Well that day has come! My fiancé and I will be going to Italy for two weeks this September (last week of August and first of September to be exact) with our daughter who will be one at the time of the vacation. Yay!! I am in need of some help/planning advice.
I have been to Italy once before on a whirlwind backpacking trip 4 years ago. We spent 5 days in cinque terre and 4 in Florence. As this trip is fairly short and supposed to be our honeymoon (although we are taking our baby with us 😆) we don't want it jam packed.
I was thinking fly into Milan, rent car, few days in the Dolomites to start (we are big hikers and walkers and nature people). I've always wanted to go to Tuscany, so we could drive there for Dolomites and rent a villa and spend 5 (or more?) days. Then I'm at a loss...id really like to get to the ocean but not sure what makes sense with our timeline. Can we make to it Amalfi and fly out of Rome or Naples? Or visit the Cinque Terre again? I loved it the first time, however seems it is overrun with tourists now so not sure. Also considering the Adriatic? Any help much appreciated!! This is a last minute trip decision so I am really just starting to throw things together. Sorry this is so long. Thanks in advance!
