Have seen a lot of questions about what to wear in these countries. My one answer with one item is the same: a scarf. Anything else seems to go as long as you wear a scarf!
That would have to be one helluva big scarf. An accessory- sure. The only piece if apparel- I don't think so.

Footwear.
well a sarong is a sort of a kind of a scarf if worn correctly, and if in a sarong on a beach, no footwear required.
But - get the point. Absolutely correct, men and women alike (prettier scarves on women though).
Getting to be scarf season here in England too, for warmth, but often part of a woman's business attire wardrobe year round too.
