We are travelling Italy in Sept,we have 3 nights allowed for Rome,have anyone taken atour to Capri from Rome,or would you suggest spending a night there?

A day trip to Capri from Rome is too far and too complicated, if that is what you are asking. Certainly a overnight would work much better

If you only have 3 nights for Rome, I would not take one of the days and go to Capri.

Faye, While there are tour companies that provide day trips to Rome from Capri, it's a fair distance and will be a LONG DAY. Given the fact that you only have a very short three days in Rome, I'd suggest spending your time there as there's SO MUCH to see and even three days is not really adequate. Under the circumstances, I'd suggest leaving Capri and the Amalfi Coast for a future visit, when you have the time to spend a few days and really enjoy the area. Happy travels!
