Hello all! We are planning a trip to Italy in late September of this year. We lfy open jaw into Venice, Florence, Sorrento and the out of Rome. We have a great deal planned, but I'm interested in finding something out of the ordinary to do in these locations. What are the best websites for Italy excursions whether cooking classes or wine tours. Thanks!
Elaina, It would help to have a bit more information about your trip. To begin with, how long will you be in Italy? Have you travelled to Europe before?
Ken,
This is our first international trip and we will be there for 12 days. Thanks!
I will tell you up front that I haven't used them, but I have researched them and am excited to do some tours with Artviva and with Through Eternity in October. You can peruse their websites for ideas and prices and use other websites, like Trip Advisor, for more information from actual clients. Even if you don't hire them, their tours will help to spark your imagination!
Elaina, I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to elaborate on your original question to provide some additional information. As this is your first international trip, I'd highly recommend reading Europe Through The Back Door before departing. That provides lots of great information on "how" to travel in Europe. The Italy Guidebook would be a good idea too, as it has lots of details on Hotels, restaurants, transportation, etc. Does the 12-day time frame include your two travel days? You'll arrive in Europe the day after you depart the U.S., and the last day will be spent on the flight home. You're covering a fairly large area from north to south, so you'll need to allow for adequate travel times between locations. Each change of city will require about a half day. I doubt that you'll have time for too many excursions. I've never taken any cooking classes or wine tours in the locations you mentioned, but as I recall some of the group here have. Hopefully they'll spot this thread. You could try doing a Google search (ie: Wine Tours or Cooking Classes Florence). You'll get lots of possibilities! Good luck and happy travels!
