Looking for place to stay in Rome on VRBO.com. Looks like going rate for small apt for two people is about $150.00 per night. Is this reasonable? What neighborhood should I be looking for? Plan to stay 3 nights then take train to Tuscany.

Hi Jerry, I would say that is reasonable based on what I have seen and a place that I booked for our upcoming italy trip. The Rome apt is actually the most expensive out of the 3 cities we are staying in. I have heard to stay away from the Termini (train station area) and look at Trastevere, Navona, Spanish Steps areas. We booked an apt in Trastevere for 4 people. I scoured the reviews on VRBO of the apts - those are extremely helpful!

are you definetly looking to stay in "your own place"? If not try monasterystays.com reasonable accomodations at reasonable prices you might also try looking at homeaway.com Good luck and happy trails!

If you are only staying 3 nights - as opposed to a week - $150/night is reasonable.
