Italy December Weather

Considering Rome, Venice , Florence early to mid Dec. Anyone traveled then? Looks like definitely winter boots and coat season .
Any experience welcomed,
Thank you

It does not snow and it does not get that cold in the day. So I don't find that one would need winter boots.
It depends on the person. Expect daytime highs in the low 50's and nighttime low's in the 30's.
A light coat that covers your neck (or a scarf), light gloves, and layer underneath as needed is the way to go.

I've been to Venice a few times around Christmas & NY, & it felt colder than Florence or Rome, probably due to the humidity near the water. I'd take waterproof footwear like Merrill's Moab shoes, smart wool socks, scarf, hat, gloves, packable light weight puffer coat & a gore tex rain coat. All pretty light weight except the shoes, but you need decent footwear on the cobblestones. Admittedly a bit later in the month, but end December in Rome we used all the above a few days of our trip, and we were coming from Sweden so use to the cold.
