Italy Covid policy extension July 25?

We are two vaccinated seniors.
I have been attempting research when Italy's current covid policy will be reviewed. I think the review happens around July 25, and it's expected to be extended into October. Can anyone verify this?
Because we are flying to Zurich with British Air, and transfer in Heathrow, I believe that would require a quarantine period in Italy.
We had hoped to spend time in Lake Como in September.
Looks like that part of our trip will be revised.
Just hoping someone on the ground in Italy might have further clarification, before I cancel the Varenna lodging.
Thanks so much!

Have you seen this from the Italian government? https://infocovid.viaggiaresicuri.it/returningtoitaly.html

I read today on a local Italian source that the “emergency” status has been extended to Oct 31. Landing at LHR makes one subject to quarantine. Personally, we are going to spend time in Switzerland before going into Italy to avoid quarantine,

I am confused about what one needs to enter Italy from an EU country. I see information about EU Digital COVID certificates. We will be traveling from France to Italy; does anyone know if an American can get this certificate in France to move countries?

Thank you!

The link in this thread seems to indicate that the white card provided by the CDC is sufficient
Until the last paragraph which says official green pass is needed to avoid Covid19 testing and self isolation
Have I read it correctly or am I mixing apples & oranges?
Would love to get a free pass while there, should I find a willing pharmacist
It would also ease my entry to France, but I might also cancel the trip. I want it to be fun not running around trying to hook my information into an EU health passport
Anyone know if I completely missed the mark on what’s required (at this moment)
Departure to Florence August 11

Diana, I believe the CDC card is all you need. The relevant info is highlighted (by me) below. The "Covid Certificate" would be your CDC card. I've seen other sources confirm the CDC card serves as our "pass."

If you are travelling to Italy from Canada, Japan or the United States:
You must fill out a digital Passenger Locator Form (or, in case of lack of necessary technology, a self-declaration);
You may present to the carrier, or any other authorised person, a Covid Certificate (also known as Green Pass or Covid-19 Green Certificate) issued by your local health authorities in Canada, Japan or the USA, showing proof that you have either:
been vaccinated against COVID-19
with an EMA authorised vaccine and you have completed the prescribed vaccination cycle since at least fourteen days;
received a negative result of a molecular or antigenic test carried out in the 48 hours before your arrival;
recovered from COVID-19 and you are no longer under prescription of self-isolation.
A Covid Certificate compliant with Italian (and EU) rules will allow travellers from Canada, Japan or the United States to enter Italy without having to self-isolate and get tested after self-isolating.

Thanks Laurel
I thought the EU approved passed had to have a QR insignia

Yesterday has been decided for the extension: officially the "emergency period" will be until the 31st of December, so the end of 2021.
Probably soon the Green Pass will be required for the most of indoor activities (sport events, cinemas, theatres, restaurants, bars, gyms...), but the details will be defined on next days.

My reading of the English translation of the June 18 Italian Order, section 1, is that the CDC covid card is not the equivalent of the green pass, it defines the green pass as the digital version approved by EU.

There is conflicting information on various official web pages on what is needed to cross a land border into Italy if one is a US resident. Section 3 of the order says that "subjects" of the US, Canada, and Japan can enter Italy with a covid certificate "issued by the respective health authorities". However, conflicting information indicates that the use of the CDC card is only acceptable when arriving from one of these three countries, not if you are a citizen of one of these three countries arriving (i.e., crossing a border) to Italy from a third country after a stay in the country. https://www.esteri.it/mae/resource/doc/2021/06/normativa_covid_21_giugno_eng.pdf

At this point, I can't tell what is required to cross into Italy without a digital green certificate. The reoepn eu webpage indicates that if you do not have a digital green certificate, a PCR test can be used as a substitute for a digital green pass. https://reopen.europa.eu/en/map/ITA/7001. My hunch is that this information is now outdated. Italian government web page suggests that the June 18, 2021 order requires 10 days of isolation is required if one does not have the digital green certificate. https://infocovid.viaggiaresicuri.it/returningtoitaly.html.

The two unknows are (1) is a CDC card the equivalent of a digital green certificate when crossing into Italy by land and (2) is there an exemption to 10 days of isolation when one cannot present the digital green certificate, such as a PCR test.
I'm going to attempt to cross the land border between Switzerland and Italy sometime in mid-August with my CDC card, passport, and a PCR test. I'll let the forum know if this is sufficient, overkill, or 10 days of isolation is required.
