Italy - City and Coast suggestions

Hi all,

My partner and I are planning 8 days in Italy in June split between 2 sites. We’d really like 4 days in the centre of a medieval town or city followed by 4 more relaxing days by the sea - with no more than a couple of hours drive between the two. Ideally within an hour or two of a Ryanair airport.

We’re looking at Sicily, Puglia, Tuscany, Amalfi - basically anywhere.

Would love to hear thoughts and opinions!

Tuscany- Lucca then to Liguria-Santa Margherita or Camogli
Sicily-Palermo and Ortigia Island, Siracusa
Sorry, not sure about Ryannair locations.

I'd stay toward the north. June isn't the best time of year for Sicily and Puglia because of the heat. In addition, I think it's a shame to spend the (very likely) extra time getting to Sicily and not having the time to see more of the island.
