Italy bus tour company

Can anyone suggest a tour company, Perillo is more than I can afford...I would love to take my Mom who is 85, born is Italy, left at 12 and has never been back. I know the only way to travel would be a bus tour. thanks

Where in Italy do you want to travel to? What do you think she would like to see. How long would you expect to be in Italy? If your mother can travel around without difficulty, you can easily travel between large cities on the high-speed Eurostar trains. These are highly-comfortable trains that get up to 210MPH for the newer trains. Once in the large cities, you can take local escorted tours.

Larry thats a great idea. I hate to say we would only have a week because I'm already taking a month off in Sept. I'm thinking of Rome and Sorrento. I would just have to find out about the private tours. My Mom can walk, just not great distances. It may be a crazy idea but I know she wouldn't leave my Dad any longer anyway.

If you decide to do the train/local tour route....just remember to pack light as you are responsible for your luggage on the train. (No porters or checking luggage.)

If you wanted to see what other tour companies charge try Globus/Cosmos, Trafalgar and Insight. All offer English only tours at different price levels.

If your mother can handle her own smaller, wheeled bag then I would suggest doing it yourself.

If not, and you have to worry about both bags, you might want to look into a tour.
