Italy beach town

Greetings, I'm in the early stages of planning a trip to Italy for early April 2027 with a group of friends. When we were in Portugal in 2024, one of our group fell in love with Nazare'. We were only there for lunch during a trip to Fatima, but she remembers that town fondly and vividly. As this is her "bucket list" trip, she really wants to stay in the same sort of town in Italy. We will be flying into Venice and out Rome with stops in Bologna and Florence with various day trips as I find them. So my question is, does anyone know of a seaside town, doesn't have to be touristy, but needs easy public transportation access, that isn't too far off our planned route, that we can stop and decompress for a couple days. Thanks for any help you can give me!

This is a tricky one since your itinerary is mainly going inland, but i would recommend that If you want to decompress right after Bologna, head slightly east to the Adriatic Sea to Cesenatico. It's a very relaxed, historic seaside coastline. Driving is easier but you can train ride there.

Take a look at villages along the Ligurian coast- Chiavari, Sestri Levante. Could be done between Bologna and Florence or after Florence as I think you would have to travel thru Florence to get there by train.

Others would say Cinque Terre as it is so popular- but that brings massive crowds as well.
