Hello All,
I am seeking a week long bike tour in the Bari area. This will be our 3rd trip to Italy and first time in this beautiful area of Italy.
Can anyone recommend a well organized tour? We are in good condition for our 60years. Interested in moderate exertion biking and great food/lodging.
Thank you!
Maureen
My parents took this tour and really enjoyed it - https://www.vbt.com/tours/italy-puglia-guided-bike-tour/
Good recommendation from Emily.
VBT is a well-regarded company that specializes in bike tours, so that should be a good choice.
I've used utracks and tripsite both are consolidators. I'm looking at the Puglia trip myself :)
We did a tour with VBT many years ago when they were focusing mainly on Vermont. Turns out they sometimes run tours with colleges that package them as alumni travel. We were the only people not affiliated with the college on our bike trip and it was a bit awkward. I don't know why they didn't close out that offering to the public. I guess they still had seats available. So if you're thinking of a trip with VBT be sure to ask them if the signups for the trip you're considering are from the general public or if that trip is being offered to some group or club.
Thank you All, very helpful.
I will explore VBT tours.

Hello Maureen -
You didn't mention if you wanted a guided or self-guided bike tour. This Company (https://cicloposse.com/) does both all over Italy, including Puglia. My wife and I have taken 3 self-guided rides with them (Tuscany, Umbria, Puglia) and enjoyed all immensely. Everything was first rate, from the bikes, maps/ GPS, and accommodations. We're actually taking our first guided ride next month in Croatia with VBT, after 13 self-guided rides in Italy, France, and Spain. We're in our early 70s now and figure the sag wagon might come in handy.
