Italy added to UK’s list of countries requiring quarantine

Today British transport minister Grant Shapps announced that HM government is taking Italy off the “corridor” list as of Sunday October 18. That is, those entering the UK from Italy on that date or later will have to quarantine for 14 days.

Considering that yesterday the UK had 3 times the number of Covid deaths than Italy (150 vs 47), and 60% more new cases (16k vs 10k), maybe it would be more appropriate if Italy imposed a quarantine on those coming from the UK rather than the opposite.
