italy

We arrive in Italy Sept 6th...we will be in Montepulciano until the 9th or 10th we plan on going to Campobasso & Andali for family and Matera for the caves. We had really hoped to go to Croatia for about a week but that doesn't seem to be working out as we don't think we can put our rental car on the ferry. Driving to Croatia is a possibility but that may be too ambitious. So any suggestions about that would be helpful. If we don't do that we will have a week or more to travel Italy. Last two trips we went to Rome Florence, Venice,Naples Capri Sorrento, Pompei Cinque Terre, Sicily Assisi Chianti Pisa Castlionecello (near Livorno)Fiesole,
Montalcino, Saturnia, colonatta, Vinci Bellagio. We are looking to another area...What is interesting on the east coast . Any suggestions would be appreciated thanks Maryann

Visit Puglia (Apulia). Re Croatia, rental agreement will also almost certainly forbid you from driving to Eastern Europe, not just the Ferry. They like to steal cars and take the auto parts on that side of the iron curtain.

Puglia is beautiful, Bari or Alberobello are about an hour by car from Matera. The Gargano peninsula in northern Puglia is great for nature reserves and coastal islands.

Do you want some time at the beach? You could go to Rimini, or Riccioni. There is also San Mateo and San Leo These are all on the Adriatic side. I have family there, and find these places very charming, even if touristy.
It depends on what you want to do, it seems you have been all over, and maybe you might like another country.
