Italy 2025

We are planning a trip to Italy in the spring or fall of 2025. I have been told that I should reconsider as 2025 is a Jubilee year for the Catholic Church and will result in larger than usual crowds. Should we postpone until 2026?

Carpe diem. No time like the present. Life has no limitations, except the ones you make. There were more than 57 million visitors to Italy in 2023, it is quite the popular destination. Having a plan, making appropriate adjustments, being prepared, all will be impactful any time and any where you may travel. I say GO and enjoy!

We're booking Florence->Rome->Salerno->Taormina by train for April 2025. Had to rejigger the timing a bit because I originally had us in Rome during Holy Week. Now we'll be there April 8-12 with Easter being the 20th. Still not optimum, but so far doable. In Rome, however, we are booking tours because of it being a Jubilee year, with added crowds. Ordinarily we'd just wander on our own, being independent travelers.
