Yes that would be helpful.

Winery options, possible cooking class, etc. in Lucca.

Rome sites not to miss. Is a trip to Positano and Pompeii worth it for a day.?

Positano is too far too complicated to get to for a day trip

Pompeii is a very very long day trip
Many here recommend a day trip to Ostia Antica instead, close to Rome

Take a look at WalksofItaly.com
All of their tours are excellent
Highly recommend Pristine Sistine unless you enjoy crushing crowds

EatingEurope.com has wonderful food tours

Lisa, we need more info than what you've given us.

Who is "we"? How many and what ages? And what time of year are you planning to travel?
What sorts of things are you interested in? There are no "sites not to miss" if they don't appeal. If we make that list for you, it becomes our trips and not yours! :O)

Is a trip to Positano and Pompeii worth it for a day.?

No one can answer the "worth it" question unless you're really interested in Pompeii. Doing both Pompeii and Positano on an escorted tour (almost always by bus) is a REALLY long day and involves many hours sitting on that bus and not enough hours off of it. Personally, I would say no but others have done it and enjoyed the trip.

Best advice? Get some guidebooks, spend some time with them, and then determine what most appeals to you. Then come back for detailed advice about those places. Folks here will be happy to help!

Editing to add: you've not really engaged in previous posts to which responders have offered advice or asked for more info. We can offer the best help via two-way conversations so it would be great if you'd help us out in return by filling in the blanks and acknowledging responders suggestions. :O)

Check out the 'itinerary' tab in this tour; it should provide some inspiration

How many in your travel party? Ages? Mobility issues? Time of year? ( worth repeating what Kathy already asked)

Lisa- you really need to research Rome, there is so much to do and see that you “need a lifetime for Rome”. Grab some library books and make a list of the things you want to see and make reservations early (the Vatican museums, the Borghese museum, etc) so you won’t be disappointed. Always try and realize the real time when traveling between areas and other cities. You asked about Pompeii from Rome and yes, you can do it, but it would be exhausting. Imagine begin in Washington DC and wanting to visit Philly for the day...not a perfect analogy, but something similar. Lucca is a fabulous place to wind down, enjoy the walk, visit Pisa or Monticanini Terme for the day. Also Florence is a easy and scenic train ride from Lucca. We have visited there several times and it is one of my favorite towns in all of Italy. Good luck
