Italotreno train system adding new routes- the privately owned train system like Trenitalia

While working on our next trip to Italy I came across this announcement from the Italo Train system. some new routes will start in May, others this summer.

https://www.italotreno.it/en/destinations-timetable

"From 1 May 2018 a host of new stops
With Italo you can stop at Brescia, Desenzano, Peschiera del Garda, Verona, Vicenza, Padova e Venezia Mestre leaving both from Milano Centrale and Venezia (Venice) S.Lucia.
More connections, faster journeys
Up to 14 connections per day on the Milan-Venice route will be introduced by 1 July 2018 allowing you to reach the centre of each city in just 2 hours and 25 minutes."

About time. Until then, in order to get between Milan and Venice you have to change trains in Bologna, making them uncompetitive on that route.

yee-hah!!!

After suffering for years the Frecciabianca teeth rattlers on that route it will be nice to have a train with a suspension system. Can't come too soon.

But I hope that they all don't make all those stops. Stopping at Garda is nice but Brescia and Desenzano on every train might be a bit slow. Hope that the times quoted are for all but I would guess that is just an occasional nonstop. Bring on the red trains!!

Trenitalia uses only Regionales and FrecciaRossa on that route, not Frecciabianca. The direct trains to S. Lucia are all FrecciaRossa1000, faster and newer than Italo's.
Anyway it's the tracks, not the trains that make us jump&bump between Milan and Venice.

Times change. It was Frecciabianca the last time I did that, but that was 3 years ago.

Would someone mind comparing italo's first class to Trenitalia on the FrecciaRossa 1000?
We usually take Italo first class mainly because its smaller and there is a space to place our luggage close by.
