Hi all! Can someone tell me if the agreement between ItaloTreno and ATAF is still active that allows for free rides on all Florence public transit with a ItaloTreno train ticket (for 24 hours)? Thanks!
Agreement suspended since February 1st, 2014
Awwww. Thank you!
Except for the bus to Piazzale Michelangelo and Fiesole, I've never spent a dime on public transportation in Firenze, the historic center is very compact and easy to walk, and the buses can't get to the pedestrian areas anyway. It's one of the easiest cities for walking, except for those cobblestones.
The good thing about cobblestones is that they are too big to get inside your shoes. So they are better than gravel.
Thanks guys! I have spent about 4 months in Florence over the past couple years so I'm good with that part. But we are visiting Florence for the day and I want to take a few of my friends (who have never been) to Piazzale Michaelangelo and Fiesole (time permitting) and also will need to use the Tramvia at some point to visit some local friends, as well as get to Rifredi as that's where our train departs from late that evening. Daily pass is like 5 euro so no big deal, but it it was free - hey! Thanks!
