Ítalo train to Naples to sorrento

Tomorrow is expected to be a washout
I arrive in the afternoon at Naples centrali from rome on ítalo
I’m a bit concerned about lugging my carryon and back back to the circumvuseviana train in the rain
Is it under the same terminal ?
Car service is pretty pricey
Thank you all for your pointers
Safe travels

Yes- downstairs- you don't go outside at all

The Circumvesuviana trains depart from the lower level of the Naples Centrale station in Piazza Garibaldi, below the main level where the high-speed trains arrive and depart. Walk down the stairs located in the center of the train station.

There are typically taxis waiting at the Sorrento station. Any in-town fare would be at least 15 Euros, alas. For the discount hotels in the hills, more. Look up your hotel on Google Maps so you can bargain, maybe. I trust you know how crowded the Circumvesuviana can be. Expect very tight quarters. You're going to the end of the line, so there's no danger of missing your stop. There are other trains on adjacent tracks, so get on the right one. Illuminated signs in the Naples station, luckily.

Daytrip tickets in Sorrento bought from the newstand beside the station, not "in the station." Most important SITA busses stop in front of the station. Take note of the lines for them when you arrive.
