Italo ticket refunds

Hi
I'm considering Italo low cost tickets with no refund & no cancellation option for my upcoming trip from Rome to Naples in April. Will they refund if the train gets cancelled due to track works or strikes? Do Italo trains tend to get cancelled more often than Trenitalia?

Thanks
El

Hello el.snapup and welcome to the forum!

.Italo trains are generally thought to be less susceptible to strikes since they are privately run versus the state train agency.
Strikes are generally preannounced so there is some warning but someone with a deeper knowledge of the train system can probably tell you whether April is a month prone to strikes. Certain months more prone to strikes than others by rule or by circumstance.

Partial reply from the FAQ under Delays and cancellation

If your train has not yet departed and a delay of more than 60 minutes
is expected, or if it is canceled before departure, you can
immediately request:

a refund of the ticket price without any deduction for:
- the part of the journey not yet completed;
- the entire journey if you no longer need to reach your destination. Additionally, in this case, you can ask to return to the starting
point as soon as possible with the first available Italo train.
