Italian Trains - $5.00 processing fee

I have booked a series of trips between Italian cities on the trains online. There is a $5.00 processing fee for each trip and I read somewhere that you can submit the PNR numbers online and get a refund? Has anyone heard of that?

What booking site did you use? I book on Trenitalia and have never paid a processing fee.

That's on the italiarail site. You can get a refund through the man in seat 61's site! It worked for me. :)
