Looking for suggestions on where to stay for one night between Genoa and Ventimiglia. We will be driving so a town & accommodation with easy access would be appreciated. Would prefer to be near the beach with a double room around 100e. Thanks.

The geography around there is quite simple: a highway up through the mountains (A10), a very slow (curves, 50km/h zones, city streets) coastal route (Via Aurelia - SS1) and cities between both. I find the Aurelia (SS1) section between Vado Ligure and Finale Ligure particularly scenic with smaller towns in the way. Check a major online hotel reservation site like Venere or Booking, pick the map, zoom in and see your options along SS1 or nearby. That is what I'd do.

We will be there the first part of September. I have searched on-line & have a reservation for Hotel Riviera Dei Fiori in San Lorenzo al Mare. I was hoping someone might have a recommendation for a particularly wonderful spot not to miss. There's so much info for Cinque Terra, Positano, etc. but not much this direction. Thanks again for any suggestions.

Have you tried the Liguria section of the TripAdvisor Italy forum? Liguria TA forum
