May this year--coming from French Riviera--any suggestions for towns ?

I stayed three nights in Camogli last May - lovely town, absolutely fell in love with it. Not touristy at all in May.

We enjoyed Santa Margherita Ligure with easy day trips to Camogli and Portifino.

I enjoyed staying in Rapallo in July 2014 ... nice long promenade along the water. Quite a large town so good variety of shops and restaurants. In terms of things to do, there is a funicular which provides a breathtaking view. Took day trips to Sestri Levante, Portofino, Santa Margherita Ligure, Genoa, and Camogli from Rapallo all using public transport ( bus and/or train). After having visited Santa M Ligure, I would recommend it as well as Rapallo. If you prefer small towns, go with Camogli. .. it's quite tiny compared to Rapallo and SML.
