Italian Plug Adaptor

Would someone please confirm the correct plug adaptor for US to Italy? Is it the 2 or 3 prong cylindrical plug? I am taking my laptop to Skype with my boys at home. I know I don't need a voltage converter for my laptop as it does it automatically.

It is the 2-prong. Click on the "travel store" tab above and go into accessories - handy extras. Rick is currently selling them for a buck.

I've used these very ones, and $1 is a steal! Buy at least two; it's very easy to leave one in the outlet, and from time to time I've needed to plug two together to make a 'deeper' adapter because the European outlets are often recessed. Besides, you can just simply accidentally leave one behind, OR do some other traveler a great service and share one with them ;-)

Jane Ann, Have a look at www.magellans.com/store/Adaptors___Converters___Plug_Adaptors for a good description of the Adapter Plugs you'll require. As others have mentioned, it would be a really good idea to take at least two. If your Laptop has a two-pin (ungrounded) Plug, you'll need the "D" model Plug Adapter. If your Laptop has a three-pin (grounded) Plug, you'll require the "I" model. Happy travels!

2 prong. I have several by eagle creek, and several from Rick's store. I use some electrical tape to attach one to each cord that I use. At $1, it's a no brainer to have more than you think that you'll need. They weigh nothing and take up almost no space.

Yes, two rounded prongs. They're usually referred to as "Continental" because they are the normal adapter all over Europe (at least everywhere I've been) except for the British Isles (which use a completely different adapter).
