Italian local train from Anzio or Nettuno to Naples

Arriving in FCO Oct 4. Taxi ride to Nettuno for one night. Want to see American Cemetery there ( my father was in Italy during WW II). Then head to Naples by train in the afternoon. Do I have to return to Rome Termini or is there a local Naples-bound train stop at Anzio or Nettuno?

Why mess with rome2rio when the operator of the trains, Trenitalia, has an excellent website that shows all the train options.
There are regional trains in the afternoon that get you Anzio to Naples in 3 1/2 hours with 2 changes for 12.75 EUR. Departures at 12 past the hour every hour. Click on the "regional trains" box.

eraburn, forget about Rome2Rio and the Deutsche Bahn site: always use the web-pages of the companies that run the trains. Get used to Trenitalia online and everything will be easier on the ground.

On trenitalia.com you are supposed to enter Nettuno and Napoli Centrale, then you'll discover if you have to change in Rome or somewhere else. In other words, the site will display under the third column if and where you'll have to switch trains. Just click the small arrow next to the number of changes.

Sam you should see all options (including the cheaper ones via Campoleone) even if you leave the "Main solutions" box checked on trenitalia.com ; maybe they will be buried among the others, but they must be there. Trenitalia has already been fined because they tried not to display the "only local trains" solutions to make tourists use only Freccia trains.

Hi Dario, Yes they are there, but clicking on the local trains box just makes it a little clearer, especially if you are looking to not to return all the way to Rome.

Thank you both Sam and Dario. I just bookmarked Trenitalia’s website to research future train travel in IT.
To get the $12.75 euro train fare two connections are involved taking 3h 45m. The train with one connection at the Roma Termini station costs 44.50 euros with one connection taking 3h.
